Traveling with Golf Clubs? Here’s Why My New Bag is a Total Game-Changer
Why I Chose to Get a Golf Travel Bag for My Clubs
As I am keen to get a game of golf in whether I am at home or away, I recently decided to invest in a golf travel bag to protect my clubs on the road and keep them safe. After a bit of searching, I settled on the Eagles & Birdie golf travel bag. Here’s a look into why I made the choice, how it performs, and some tips I’ve learned along the way.
Why I Needed a Golf Travel Bag
Protecting My Clubs During Travel
The main reason I bought a golf travel bag was to avoid any damage to my clubs while traveling. I had one unfortunate experience when I went to Rottnest Island a couple of years ago. The luggage company left my golf clubs out in the rain, which wasn’t ideal. I knew I’d be traveling lots more with my golf clubs and wanted to make sure they’d be protected no matter what the weather was.
Spur of the Moment Purchase
While I did some research, I have to admit the purchase was a bit spontaneous! I needed a bag quickly for an upcoming family vacation to Margaret River. I wanted something that was lightweight, waterproof, and big enough to fit all my clubs easily.
Golf Travel Bag Features I Looked For
Compact Size
One of my top priorities was a golf bag that would fit easily in my car or a hire car. I knew that the car I would mostly likely be using would be a medium to large SUV. I wanted to make sure I didn’t crowd out everyone else’s luggage (my family would not be happy if I did). I didn’t want anything bulky – just enough space for all my clubs. The Eagles & Birdie travel bag hit the mark with its compact design.
Lightweight and Waterproof
Since I’ve had some bad luck with rain and travel before, I specifically wanted a lightweight, waterproof option. Knowing my clubs would always stay dry in wet weather was essential. Many travel golf bags offer this option which helps so much with peace of mind.
Why I Chose the Eagles & Birdie Bag
Good Quality Golf Travel Bag at an Affordable Price
I was drawn to the Eagles & Birdie bag because it had a good balance between quality and price. There were more expensive options, however this bag was on sale. Also the sales assistant from The Golf Clearance Outlet recommended it and said it had good reviews from others. It seemed to me that it would be a good option at a good price too!
Great Design
This bag is fully enclosed and has a zip to go around the clubs, which means I don’t have to mess about with extra covers. It even offers more protection than my regular golf bag – which is a bonus!
How It Has Performed – So Far…
Protection of My Golf Clubs
The bag does come with padding, although I think the top could use a bit more. If I were taking it on a plane, I’d probably add a towel or some extra padding around the club heads just to be safe. But overall, I feel confident that it keeps my clubs well-protected.
Storage of Golf Accessories
This golf travel bag fits a few golf balls and tees, however there isn’t much room for extras like towels or wet weather gear. So if you want to carry a lot of extras, this could be a limitation. It is something that I will consider next time if I am buying another one.
Pros and Cons – Travel Golf Bag
Easy to Carry
One of the best things I like about this bag is that it is so lightweight. It is easy to carry around the golf course, even without wheels. So you don’t need a buggy. If you are one of those people who would rather not carry it for an entire round – of course, renting a buggy is always an option.
Fits Nicely in the Car
The compact size of this golf bag makes it easy to pack into the car. You just need to be mindful of what other luggage you are carrying, especially if you are travelling with others. I found it fits best in medium to large size SUVs.
A Bonus Discovery!!
An unexpected advantage I discovered was how useful this travel bag is for going to the local driving range. Instead of having to take my full set of golf clubs, I can just take the clubs I plan to use. Great that I can use this bag in another way that I hadn’t thought of before!
Final Thoughts on My Golf Travel Bag
Overall, I’d definitely recommend the Eagles & Birdie travel bag for anyone who’s looking to travel with their clubs. It is a great investment whether you’re planning a weekend trip or a longer holiday. It definitely gives you peace of mind and keeps your clubs safe.
